Still A Freshman?

Postby ShakinItShelly on Sun Jun 15, 2008 1:31 pm

So I just got My acceptance letter today from the school and was told that I was still a freshman going into next year, though i just finished my freshman year at a diffrent school. Is there a desired amount of credits that are needed to be considered a sophmore? If so, How Many?

Your class status is defined by the number of credits completed, depending on the following:

Freshman: 0-39.5
Sophomores: 40 - 70
Pre-Juniors: 70.5 - 96
Juniors: 96.5 - 129.5
Seniors: 130 and above

Ok, but where as the credits per class differ from the school i transferred from, will i be getting more credits for the classes i took? Or just the ammount of credits i got at my last school? Cause as of now I was only 2 credits away from being a sophomore and now i am 17.5 credits away.

The credits given for transferred courses are determined by the college which you are transferring into.

For instance, I had 8 credits in from when I was in high school, but those were only worth 4 when I came here

In order to figure out your class standing, you must speak to to someone in your department. If, at the end of this, you are still a freshman, you can consider yourself a "super-freshman," meaning that technically you are, but it will still be possible for you to catch up and make it into the next class over the course of the year.
