C-op Vs non-cop

Postby Cipher on Thu Jun 12, 2008 8:14 am

Just out of curiosity, i would like to know why the co-op option is cheaper (tution-wise) than the non-co op program?

What you are probably seeing is the 5yr co-op option being a lower yearly rate than the 4 year non-co-op or 4 year co-op option. This is because regardless of program you are leaving with the same degree. The difference is in the co-op experience gained while in attendance.

For this reason the 5 year program has a lower yearly rate which amounts to the same paid in 4 years by the other students. For example, in the magical world where college only costs $100 total, a five year student would pay 20 a year, while a 4 year student would pay 25.

I hope this answers your question. If that wasn't the pricing difference you were referring to let me know!

To add on to bertonedragons info.....if finance is an issue for you, my advice is to consider the 5yo. The reason being that with the four year, you get 1 coop, and with the 5 you get 3. This results in an extra year of experience AS WELL AS PAY!!!!! Many of our coops pay very well, and help to offset the cost of Drexel.
