Hmm which resident hall for non-honors?

Postby Cylf on Thu Dec 20, 2007 6:17 pm

I don't think I'm the only one but I'm not sure which Hall for non-honors Is really the right pick. I hope to get into Honors and get into their North Hall, but, if I don't I want to know which Dorm I want to try to get into it.

I'm in Engineering myself but I'm not too sure which Dorm may be better but not too far away.

i'm thinking Van-R because of the 4 person Suites, but it seems like it might be a bit far if I happen to be running late. I have also heard that the Towers we're good. Any input would be helpful.

-Thanks

Each student has different preferences in terms of residential living, so you should probably come to an open house. The residence halls are usually open during these times, so you could get a better feel of each hall. All of the residence halls are on the northern side of campus and within about 1 block of each other, so the time to class is about the same for everyone. I hope that helps. Sorry if the post is awkwardly worded. I just woke up, and I'm still a little groggy.

I was told towers, east (has a new name though), north, and race. That's if you want a suite though

Ok, I'm currently chilling in a comp science class at the over-night study and this is what i found out about dorm rooms:

North hall isn't available to Freshman, so if your on honors you probably want race which is still very nice (stayed with jimmy diekes overnight and had plenty of fun) but if you're not in honors Van R DOES have suite Styles. Otherwise they say you probably want to go for Towers/Calhoun.

Yeah, Towers is definitely my first choice (I'm non-honors as well). That was the hall they showed us when I visited for open house. I liked it, however it didn't seem as modern and updated as the other ones I see in pictures.

well, actually, i was looking, and as much as i want the suite style, van r is kind of a little farther then what i want to walk if im running late, so if i don't get into honors its going to be a 50/50 towers or van r. Im hoping to get into honors/race but ill ill find out soon.

My personal favorite is Towers. I fell in love with the views the minute I walked through the door and went up the elevators :P I could definetly get used to looking at that everyday!

Is there a specific hall for the freshman?
I wasn't really sure if we got to choose or what.

Yes, Calhoun, Kelly, Myers, Towers and Van Rensselaer are for Drexel's first year students.
