I have received my acceptance letter this past week, but I'm still a bit stuck on a major. I am an IT guy, and currently my major is Information Systems. Although that major fits what I want to be doing, I also want to write code, troubleshoot networks, etc.
Can I take programming courses being an Information Systems major, with it counting towards a degree, or should I change / double major?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!
Hello Glen,
If you are specifically looking to write codes, then the programming-intensive program here at Drexel would be Computer Science. But Computer Science is a math and programming intensive major. If you would like basic programming, networking, business applications and problem solving all comprised into one degree, then information systems would be the best fit. If you would like a program that is less business applications and more server/networking applications/troubleshooting, then information technology would be the best fit.
